Supplier selection
How to Choose a Woven Fabric Supplier in China for Apparel Sourcing
Choosing a woven fabric supplier in China is not only a price comparison. For apparel buyers, the supplier should be able to discuss fabric specification, sampling route, MOQ, lead time, inspection, packing and export communication clearly before bulk production.
1. Check whether the supplier understands specifications
A practical supplier should ask about composition, GSM, usable width, color, finishing, application, order quantity and testing requirements. If the inquiry is for coated, TPU laminated or bonded fabric, the supplier should also discuss waterproof target, breathability, bonding strength and final garment use.
2. Review sampling and communication process
| Sample route | Stock swatch, lab dip, handloom, yardage sample or trial production should be clear. |
|---|---|
| Technical file | Specification sheet, reference photos and sample notes help control repeated changes. |
| Inspection | Bulk checks should cover GSM, width, color, hand feel, shrinkage, color fastness and visible defects. |
| Export support | Packing, labels, shipping marks and documents should be confirmed before shipment. |
3. Use application pages to narrow the fabric route
Before requesting a quotation, buyers can first identify the target application. Outdoor jackets, uniforms, waterproof apparel and stretch pants often require different fabric choices and quality checks.
