Nylon Woven Fabric for Lightweight Outdoor Jackets: Buyer Specification Checklist
Nylon woven fabric is widely used for lightweight outdoor jackets, windbreakers, packable shells and performance garments where strength, low weight and clean surface appearance are important. For an accurate quotation, buyers should define the base fabric, finishing route and garment performance target before asking for price.
1. Confirm the end use first
The same nylon fabric can behave very differently after calendering, downproof finishing, water-repellent treatment, coating or lamination. A buyer should state whether the fabric is for a simple windbreaker, a hiking shell, a lightweight uniform jacket, a bag panel or a rainwear project.
- For windbreakers, hand feel, weight and color fastness are often the first checks.
- For downproof or padded jackets, yarn density and finish stability become more important.
- For water-resistant shells, coating or DWR details must be confirmed before sampling.
2. Key specification points
